Eating habits during the COVID-19 pandemic

We are nutrition researchers at McGill University. Our objective is to understand how the eating habits of Canadians are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why participate? 🌈

Your participation to the COVIDiet study will help researchers better understand how this pandemic is affecting the eating habits of Canadians to inform public health agencies in future economic crises and isolation measures.

You can take part in the study if you:

  • Are aged 18 years and over
  • Live in Canada
  • Own a smartphone or a tablet
  • Have access to the internet
  • Speak and read English or French
  • Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Are not hospitalized

Your participation involves: 

  • 15-20 minutes to complete an initial survey
  • Using an online application to track your food intake by taking pictures of what you eat and drink for 4 days
  • Complete a brief follow-up survey and track your food intake for 4 days, 3 months later
  • Optional follow-ups every 3 months

All data provided as a part of the study will be treated with confidentiality and your food pictures will remain anonymous.
